Hundreds of Hyundai Palisades pose a fire risk to drivers. Find out if yours is one of them and what to do to protect yourself.

600 Hyundai Palisades Recalled Over Fire Risk – Is Yours On the List??

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reporting that hundreds of Hyundai Palisades are being recalled due to a fire risk. The vehicles are in danger of catching fire whether they’re driving or parked, so mitigating this danger and scheduling repairs quickly is a must. If you own a Hyundai Palisade, exercise extreme caution until you know for sure that your vehicle is safe to operate.
Which Hyundai Palisades Are Being Recalled?
Hyundai says that over 600 of its 2025 Palisades pose a fire risk. If you own one, keep an eye on your mailbox, as Hyundai will mail out owner letters in early July 2025. Until you’ve confirmed that your vehicle is safe or has been repaired, refrain from using it as much as possible. Take every step possible to protect yourself, your home and your loved ones while you’re waiting to get this faulty seal replaced.
Why Is Hyundai Recalling These Palisades?
According to the NHTSA, “an insufficient seal on the controller for the electric oil pump may allow moisture to accumulate in the printed circuit board,” of the affected Palisades. A faulty seal like this is incredibly dangerous; it “can cause an electrical short and result in a fire.”
Car fires are nothing to mess around with. They put you, your passengers and other drivers at risk on the road. And they don’t only happen while you’re driving. If they catch fire while your car is parked, you could lose your entire home to the blaze. The NHTSA brief warns owners to “park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed.”
Is There a Fix?
Hyundai “dealers will replace the electric oil pump controller, free of charge.” Make your repair appointment as soon as possible. Gambling with your safety against an engine fire is a bad bet. So, as we’ve stated multiple times above, take every precaution possible. Refrain from using your vehicle or parking it near any structures until the dealer confirms that they have repaired the faulty seal on your vehicle.
